Reading Notes Week 12: Alice in Wonderland

Alice was setting by her sister and very bored on a warm day.  She looked up to see a rabbit mumbling about being late and he actually took a pocket watch out of his coat to check the time!  Alice thought this very odd, so she followed him & jumped down the rabbit hole after him.  She fell for what seemed like forever and begin to notice her surroundings which were like things in a house.  She also began to let her imagination run wild.

Alice continued to fall and she dozed off.  Finally she landed and tried to hurry off after the rabbit.  But she couldn't find him.  She wound up in a room with lots of doors, but they were all locked.  She finally found a key to one & outside it was a beautiful garden she wanted badly to explore, but it was so tiny she couldn't fit through it.  In trying to find a way to fit through it, she found a bottle labeled "Drink Me".  She thought this might be a bad idea, but it wasn't labelled poison so she drank it.

Alice shrunk small enough to fit through the door, but she forgot the key.  She then found a cake that said Eat Me.  So she did and thought nothing happened, but then she found herself stretching until she was too big for the house.  Now she could see the garden, but not reach it because she was stuck through the house.  She then saw a caterpillar.

Alice talked to the Caterpillar and he asked "Who are YOU?"  They had a very confusing conversation.  The caterpillar told her to eat the mushroom to fix her size.  One side would make her smaller, the other would make her bigger.  She didn't know which was which though so she tried one side and it made her tiny.  Then she hurried to try the other side.

She met a pigeon and had another strange conversation.  She kept nibbling on the mushroom, bits of each size until she was her normal height.  But realized she still couldn't get through the door so she ate until she was 9 inches tall.

Alice continued to have many strange conversations and experience many strange things.  She kept getting more confused and frustrated it.

She met a Cheshire Cat and had yet another strange conversation.  The cat gave her directions to the March Hare's place and asked if she was going to play croquet with the Queen.
